On the night of December 26, 2015 right after Christmas, Arnel suddenly crave for a quick year end right with me and his friends with team MXI. So the next morning, on December 27, 2015, We woke up early, grabbed our pants and jackets, tied our shoes, wore our helmets, rode our mx 125 motorbike and made our way to Baler, Aurora.
(It was June of 2015 when we last visited Baler for the Amazing tour endurance challenge and it was also our first glimpse (thanks to tito noy) of the very native yet so stoked Kusina Luntian, i was not able to fully enjoy my 1st time during that moment because the place was so totally jam packed with guests and surfers, so to take another experience, we invited our friends to have our brunch at the native restaurant).

Kusina Luntian is just a small hut (typical bahay kubo), that you will not even easily notice the great food they serve unless you enter their facade. At the back of their main kubo is a long open air bamboo hut with several bamboo tables that serves as their dining area (apart from the small portions that they have on the main kubo). I was so excited to take my boots off and let my tired feet feel and sit at the bamboo floors.
Another portion of their native kubo restaurant is the 3rd hut that faces the road to sabang beach, where in they prepare their ๐๐apple-grape, ๐๐apple-melon and other shakes they offer.
The surf board menu
Arnel and I ordered for wapang wapang na ๐ทliempo (one of the best seller), and for the very 1st time tried the pinaputok na tyan ng ๐ isda and wang patawad na ๐ฎ tapa.

We also order for apple-grape and apple-melon shake (wasn't able to took a photo since this was first served to us, and we almost finish it right until our main dishes were served. Believe me, the combo may sound not ordinary but the taste of the fruitshakes is very refreshing since they use all natural fruits).
And of course, our Baler visit wouldn't be complete without the taste of my favorite paco salad (fern salad, i wonder why their ferns tastes so sweets, was it the natural sweet taste or they have their own secret to keep it sweet?).
More drinks available..
All their dishes are plated on banana leaves.
Wang Patawad na Tapa is made of a cup of steamed rice topped with shredded beef, salted egg, tomatoes and fern leaves. The beef is sooooo tender, tasty and i can say that really really melts on my tongue.
Pinaputok na tyan ng isda is made of steamed salmon belly (together with rice, fern leaves, salted egg and tomatoes). The fish is fresh and you can really tell that it is steamingly hot. I love the fats from the fish belly.
Wapang wapang na liempo is very big that it can be serve for 2 persons for individuals who has a large appetite like us, we can finish this whole meat in one sitting. The liempo is grilled and very flavorful.
The team mxi nueva ecija really enjoyed their first Kusina Luntian experience and everybody keeps on telling that they are so "busog" right after our brunch. The place is perfect for ride enthusiast since you can rest and lay down at the bamboo huts while waiting for your orders.
We also bought some suman sa ibos for our appetizer. Native sticky rice that is steamed and wrapped in coconut leaves. It is sweet and "makunat". I think this will be best paired with a cup of hot chocolate tablea (winner!)
Their service water is served on long neck vintage bottle.
A shot of Banayad Whiskey
The tip box
Kusina Luntian is simply the best, i was so thankful for there will now be a great place to eat in Baler aside from those Eat all you can buffets that is regularly seen along downtown. I just felt a bit sad because Lando also affected the small native resto, their interiors are all gone and the only thing left are these surfing stickers on their ladder.
During our rides, we always opt for something that is not ordinary and can really make us experience to feel something new and not the usual. We don't always go for those fancy restaurants and fast foods (unless we have no choice) everytime we go for new destinations because we really want to experience what the place has to offer.
Team MXi Nueva Ecija at the lukso lukso islets.
We bumped with Duterte's great lawyer, Atty. Salvador Panelo.
My man, my rider, my spartan, my finisher...
Until the next #riderandthecrafterrideandtravels
